Found on sweet-station.com by Andy Alcaca

I like the light and the black background and also that famous artworks have been painted onto a face.

Photography

http://www.whitezine.com/en/photography/jasper-james.html

I found this on FFFFound.com and I found it interesting how the photos of the city buildings and the outlined people fade into one another. There is a  contrast of the shadow of the person and the grey, bland city scape.

I like the use of the sunset, yellow lighting in this photo.

Proposal

In my next artwork I would like to conduct a series of experiments but also continuing on with what I left of with on my last artwork. I would like to use the theme "DO NOT TOUCH" as my phrase which will be incorporated into my text. As a subtitle to Do not Touch all my work will be about both delicate and brittle.

The experiments I will conduct will be influenced by the following artists on my blog. Such as Rosalie Gascoigne, Robert MacPherson and photographers such as Matilda Aslizaden who takes low key photos and others who have inspired me in my photographs.

The experiments will include..
-Taking photos of people with painted white cracked faces. Slip on face that cracks.
-Canvas on white boards (Heating, bindering, ripping, painting, cracking, sewn pieces)
-Text with the white boards (Text will be, diary entries, thoughts, phrases)
-Thick paint on canvas then heat gun and then it will begin to crack
-My photos: Wide angle Lens, heavy shadows, under exposed, subjects with cracked faces, lights and dark place.

Overall, just make heaps of everything.

Robert MacPherson

In this artwork I like how the text has that 'just drawn' look. I like how the artwork is just heaps of boards put together which I would like to achieve in my artwork. I also like the black and white colours.

I like the panels in this artwork. I also like the weathered colours. I want to achieve this look in my artwork once I'm finished. I would also like to achieve the black and white colour.

(Book: Robert MacPherson pg. 27, 27 Top Sarah Merles) In art work - construction signs could be used in artwork and made as stencils then printed on boards.

Do Not Touch

I would like to start my theme which continues on from the theme of fragile but is different slightly. Perhaps "Do not Touch"

White Face

I practiced painting my friend's face white and waited for it to crack. I used the wide angle lens and a lamp as the lighting. The lighting wasn't too good but it was just an experiment. I then fixed the photos in Picnik.com just mainly fixing the exposure and contrast.

Today..

Today I begun to explore some materials I could use for my experiments. I used old lead and coloured pencils I had lying around. A sharpened them until they were around the same size. A then used binder medium to shine and stick them to a painted white canvas board.

A place an magazine cut out of an old painting onto the board and painted it white then put the pencils over the top.

I decided that the plain pencils looked boring so I used sandpaper to make the pencils look old and used.

I also sandpapered the board which made the magazine cut outs colours appear.

I covered the pencils with binder to keep them together and give a slight gloss.

Perhaps it could go in a frame :)

All pieces of my artwork. 5 boards. Framed.

Delicate and Brittle

I have now begun questioning what to do with my second artwork.
There's a few things that I am certain of

-Discarding 'fragile' tape
-Using boards, text, white paint, heat gun - continuing experimenting
-Using a new material - canvas. (To sew and work with on the boards)
-Changing the theme slightly to delicate - still remaining in theme of fragile but different.
-Low key photographs
-Using wide angle lens
-Using more lighting and dark places but also trying different environments
